Steve Bell on Jeremy Corbin as he lauches Labour's manifesto
Gillray - An excrescence - a fungus - alias a toadstool upon a dunghill
The head of Pitt, gazing up in profile to the right, is travestied as a fungus; his long neck represents the stalk, which grows out of a crown resting on a dunghill on which are three satellite toad-stools. Clouds and landscape, slightly indicated, form a background. 20 December 1791 Hand-coloured etching
One of many satires on Pitt as an arrogant upstart depending upon royal favour, and appropriating the powers of the crown.
